This gorgeous cast-iron, Swedish-made grinder is a new take on a classic we’ve carried for years. The labyrinth-like grinding mechanism does a terrific job of breaking down hard, whole spices and dried herbs to an even grind. The grinder’s gently radiused design and solid heft feels great in the hand and the finely forged grinding mechanism is surprisingly quick at breaking down spices.
One caveat: The grinder should only be used with dry ingredients; otherwise the “teeth” can develop surface oxidation. To clean, simply grind coarse salt or rice.
