USDA Organic Gochugaru Hot Pepper Flakes

We use chilies throughout our cooking for deep flavor and contrast—a little bright heat can cut through rich or dense flavors. These organic Korean chili flakes have a fresh and fruity, moderately spicy flavor and coarse, flaky texture that is ideal for Korean dishes and beyond. Frankly, we use it anywhere and everywhere we might use a mild crushed red pepper flake. We like that the flakes are large enough that they don’t entirely fade into a dish, providing a counterpoint. Try making a batch of kimchi, or even a quick cabbage slaw with the flakes, or add a spoonful to your next batch of marinara or chili.
